A Million Dollar Horse… (by buzzterbrown)
I’m in such a good mood. I jumped for the first the time in like 3 years. Awesome. I love it. Love the adrenaline of approaching a fence. Of clearing it. Of cantering off to the next one. So much fun. Can’t wait for next week.
Literally. Since I moved to Milwaukee about a month and a half ago I have not ridden. For those that know me, this is quite depressing. I’m happiest on a horse and need the escape from reality they provide me with.
So I just scheduled my first jumping lesson for next Wednesday! It’s with an instructor I rode with while in college, I would drive over from Madison every week to ride with her. She’s one of the best eventing/jumping instructors in the state so I’m thrilled to start with her again. I’ve been doing straight dressage for the past three years, jumping will be a nice change of pace.
Though the last time I jumped, I stress fractured my spine so I’m a bit nervous. Eh that’s what’s riding’s all about, getting back on the horse. Yay!

Sweet video I stumbled upon. I’m so excited to start jumping again.
Truly saddening, this horse was amazing to watch. One of the sports most talented horses, probably ever.
“and I don’t care what happened in that ring. you pat your horse and thank him for not killing you, because we all know he could’ve”
This nearly made me cry. The healing power of horses is an amazing thing, I’ve seen it firsthand so many times. Its hurts every fiber of my being to hear such stories of abuse.
